Development of agricultural URL-databases

by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (MTK) and Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences (GTK)

MIAU-based service plan at the Department of Economics and Social Sciences / 1999 December

Since the autumn of 1998 a few new URL-catalogs (containing non-database-like information) has been created by the Department of Business Informatics. In framework of the above-mentioned projects this catalogs will be transformed into the form of regular databases in order to make possible a few search functions. The new regular databases will be expanded with new records, objects, attributes and query sevices.

The MIAU has two services:

· Firstly: it serves as a Digital Library for the Business Informatics education.

· Secondly: it works as a frequently updated navigation and information broker site for the agricultural information supply on the Internet (without user registration).

The MIAU has been published on CD, also. The online search service can not bereached through the CDs. But the full versions of the databases are available (local) for future data processing.

From February 2000 the MAINFOKA 2000 offers the following modules:

• plant database (sorts, products, statistics, trade, chemicals, )
• animal database (breeds, products, statistics, trade, chemicals, )
• agricultural extension system in Canada and the States of the USA
• agricultural extension system in the EU
• database of the MIAU authors
• catalog of best student papers and abstracts

• GG home page (Fellowship Site for Giessen & Gödöllő)

• URL of the Hungarian institutional system

• agricultural extension system of a few European states by classical navigation
