COCO-STEP Simulation of decision trees
The simulation of decision trees is a special case among the multi-stair analyses of COCO, the primary aim of it is the enhancement of robustness of the polynomial stair functions. The enhancement of robustness is nothing else than to fit those objects into the same groups, which are similar in a certain point of view and to separate these groups from the other objects (cf. classification).
In frame of the simulation we assign a monotone Y-value to those objects of the monotone stairs that can be merged, we assign another monotone value to those objects that are not in the group, then we try to make a perfect classification with the available x-s with similarity analysis.
