A one time "friendship based" kickoff (collaboration of Kirchbach Learning cebtre, University of Graz, Technical University of Graz, Bio Austria - Association of Biological farmers) took place in February 2007 by holding a weekend workshop titled "Bioversity" and then transmitting a lecture that seeked to comprise the content of that weekend to 21 external "posts" simultaneusly.
WIKISERVICE / HelmutLeitner: We've done more than 120 wiki community projects using our own Open Source wiki engine, named ProWiki (btw. There is an Hungarian UI translation showing Englsih alt-hints, a definite improvement compared to this wiki here: http://www.as-graz.org/hws/wiki.cgi?action=FrontPage). It develops according to the commuunity and collaboration needs, e. g. now includes markups for inline video windows, supporting free servers like youtube or video.google and videos hosted at our own servers. Among these projects there are about 20 educational projects, mainly at schools and pedagogical institutions in Switzerland and Austria. There is a German brochure "Wiki - collaboration in the net" that offers best practices in this setting. We tend to support social initiatives, preferably "worknets" that are built outside of decaying funded project contexts, which are often not sustainable. mailto:leitner@wikiservice.at
